About CSE
What it is and why it matters.
Comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) refers to a nationally owned and implemented school curriculum that seeks to empower young people and reduce barriers and stigma around sexual and reproductive health and rights access.
CSE matters because it addresses real harms, and because families, schools and communities already share the goal of protecting young people from them.
This digital resource was produced as part of Sonke Gender Justice’s SRHR4All Programme, informed by evidence and findings from a Youth Participatory Action Research initiative involving nearly 1000 young people in Malawi, Uganda, and Ethiopia.
